Deep South Winter Series, Round 3, Bournemouth

The rescheduled Round 3 of the Deep South Winter Series took place on Sunday. 11 Hawks riders made the journey to a track that we’re all familiar with after it hosted the 2022 British Championships. Always a popular destination club, known to put on a good event, Bournemouth BMX Club played host to 270 riders overall in this busy round of the Deep South Winter Series.

It was a strong showing from the Hawks. Leading the way were Chay and Cody, neither of whom dropped a lap all day to finish 1st in their respective age groups. Well done to both of them - can’t wait to see what the summer race series brings from both of them, they’re each looking very strong at the moment.

Not far behind was Malachi who finished 1st in one of his motos and 3rd in his semi-final to set himself up for a 2nd place finish in his A final. Johnny Two Bikes was out in action, and converted his run of 2nd places in his motos to a 3rd in his A final. Well done to you two, too.

Joining those four in A finals were Tate and Connor. Tate is worthy of a special mention, as this was his first race back since injuring himself last year. Good to see you back, Tate - hope you enjoyed yourself :)

Finally, congratulations to each of Arthur, Mike and Haydn all of whom put in great performances in their respective B finals. There were three non-starters in their finals - presumably down to an injury. Here’s hoping those affected are healing up fast.

All the photos have now been loaded onto Roots and Rain - with all the photos of Hayes riders listed here. Another photographer has listed their photos in the Deep South Winter Series Facebook group, here.

The next round of the Deep South Winter Series will be held at Gosport BMX Track on the 19th of February. Entries are now open on the British Cycling website Event page.
